Mission
The mission of the Ronald N. Krajian Foundation is to provide funding and support to charitable organizations that enrich the lives of children and families in need.
Focus Areas
Current
Initiatives
Children's
Mental Health
The mental health needs of children and young adults have grown significantly in recent years. The challenges experienced during and following the pandemic highlighted the urgent need for expanded access to early intervention services for young people and their families.
The Foundation believes children and young adults should be connected to compassionate, expert care before conditions escalate into crisis — a belief that has guided its long-standing support of innovative mental health initiatives throughout Orange County.
The Foundation is proud to support Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC) and its Mental Health Crisis Clinic, which now serves children and adolescents requiring timely assessment and intervention, bridging the gap between outpatient care and inpatient services. The Foundation continues to support efforts that remove barriers to mental healthcare and expand access to early intervention across our communities.
Education &
Opportunity
Ronald N. Krajian believed deeply in the power of education, work ethic, leadership, service, and community betterment. The Foundation continues to explore opportunities that support students, families, and organizations working to expand access to education and meaningful opportunity.
Scholarship initiatives focused on education, leadership, work ethic, and community service are under development and will be announced when available.
Community Stewardship
The Foundation's giving reflects a broader commitment to organizations that strengthen communities, support families, and create meaningful opportunities for those in need.

Ronald N. Krajian · 1931 – 2017
In Memoriam
Ronald N. Krajian
Founder of K Investment Co. · 1931 – 2017
Ronald N. Krajian was born in Los Angeles, California. He attended Los Angeles High School, served his country in the U.S. Army, and began his career in real estate while attending Pepperdine College — a combination that shaped both his character and his calling.
In March 1960, he founded Krajian Investment Company — later known as K Investment Co. — and spent more than five decades building a real estate enterprise guided by his belief in hard work, sincerity, and lasting relationships.
Beyond his accomplishments in real estate and philanthropy, Ronald N. Krajian was known for his extraordinary ability to bring people together. Affectionately known by many as "Ronny K," he was a true connector whose friendships spanned generations and continents.
He spent many years dividing his time equally between Aspen and Newport Beach, and later between Aspen and Indian Wells. In Aspen, he became something of a local institution, often referred to as the unofficial Mayor of Aspen and honored by the Aspen Historical Society as one of the city's Outstanding Figures.
His gatherings became legendary, attracting friends from around the world and creating traditions that endured for decades. He founded and hosted numerous events, including the Aspen Mountain Wine Party, the Beach Party, the Fish House Punch Party, the T-Lazy Ranch Dinner, and the Tour de Rump. In 1986, he purchased the naming rights to the Ron Krajian Bridge at a charitable auction, where the Tour de Rump was held for more than twenty years and regularly welcomed hundreds of guests.
He also organized weekly business luncheons that brought together interesting and accomplished individuals from many walks of life, reflecting his lifelong belief that relationships and conversation have the power to inspire ideas and create opportunity.
Whether he knew someone for four months or forty years, Ron had a remarkable gift for making people feel like lifelong friends. His Christmas card list exceeded 1,500 names, he never forgot a birthday, and he was known for sharing his "funny papers" and his million-dollar smile with everyone he met.
He will be remembered for his joyful spirit, generosity, unwavering optimism, love of family and friends, and a philanthropic legacy that continues to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others.
"One of the best things you can do if you have the opportunity is to help others."
