Profile
A Practice Built on
Ownership & Stewardship.
Dick Hamparsumian is a Newport Beach-based real estate executive, strategic advisor, investor, and philanthropist. As Founder and Managing Principal of Cooper One Fourteen, he leads the firm's investment, brokerage, advisory, and strategic consulting work — while also maintaining active interests in private investment, emerging businesses, and philanthropic initiatives focused on healthcare, mental-health care, and education.
He serves as Chair and Executive Director of the Ronald N. Krajian Foundation, where his philanthropic priorities center on expanding access to healthcare, mental-health services, education, and resources for children and families.
The firm he leads traces its roots to K Investment Co., founded by Ronald N. Krajian in 1960. That continuity — more than six decades of direct ownership, investment, and advisory work — shapes how Dick approaches every engagement, whether in real estate, consulting, or philanthropy.
Professional Leadership
Leading an
Independent Firm.
Dick founded Cooper One Fourteen in 2018 as the successor to K Investment Co., the California real estate investment firm established by Ronald N. Krajian in 1960. As Managing Principal, he is responsible for the firm's brokerage, advisory, investment, residential, and strategic consulting activities from Newport Beach.
The firm operates across commercial brokerage, residential representation, investment advisory, asset management, and development consulting under California real estate broker license DRE #02086191. Each engagement is evaluated within a broader context of capital, operations, market position, risk, timing, and long-term value — an approach grounded in direct participation across multiple property types and market cycles.
Dick earned a B.S. in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University, Pomona, with an emphasis in International Business, and holds a California real estate broker license.
Advisory & Investment
Beyond
Transactions.
Dick's professional work extends beyond individual real estate transactions. Through Cooper One Fourteen, he advises and consults for large residential real estate brokerages and firms — working with ownership and leadership on broader strategic, operational, business, and industry considerations. These advisory relationships are confidential, and client identities are not disclosed.
He also maintains an active interest in private investment, emerging businesses, technology, and entrepreneurship. That work increasingly sits at the intersection of real estate, technology, consumer decision-making, and the changing structure of the residential real estate industry — areas where strategic perspective and operational experience are often more valuable than capital alone.
The relationships at the foundation of this work were built through consistency and sincerity over time. Many span decades and multiple engagements. Some trace back to the earliest days of K Investment Co.
Philanthropy & Civic Leadership
Expanding
Access.
Philanthropy has been a longstanding part of Dick's life — not a separate activity, but an extension of how he approaches business and relationships. As Chair and Executive Director of the Ronald N. Krajian Foundation, he directs support to organizations serving children and families, continuing the commitment that Ronald N. Krajian modeled throughout his life.
The Foundation's priorities center on access to healthcare, mental-health care, education, and the resources children and families need to thrive. That focus is guided by a consistent principle: support should meaningfully improve someone's access to care, education, opportunity, or resources they might not otherwise have.
His involvement extends well beyond financial support — into institutional planning, fundraising leadership, and the development of programs intended to address gaps in access to care. Rather than concentrating on a single institution or cause, the Foundation's work is shaped by where support can make a practical difference.
Children’s Health
CHOC &
Mental Health.
A significant part of Dick's philanthropic work has focused on children's health through Children's Hospital of Orange County (CHOC). He has served for several years on CHOC's Enterprise Campaign Cabinet, supporting the hospital's broader fundraising and institutional priorities.
Within that involvement, pediatric mental health has been a particular focus. Working over several years with Dr. Heather Huszti, CHOC's Chief Psychologist, and hospital leadership, Dick helped develop and advance the concept that became CHOC's Mental Health Crisis Clinic. The goal was to create more immediate access to specialized mental-health intervention for children and families experiencing a crisis — bridging a gap between outpatient care and inpatient services.
His role in that initiative extended beyond financial support. It included helping identify the unmet need, developing the concept, working collaboratively with hospital leadership, and helping advance the idea toward an institutional program. The initiative reflects a broader philosophy: meaningful philanthropy can go beyond funding existing programs by identifying unmet needs, bringing the right people together, and helping institutions create durable resources to address them.
Dick has also served for three years on the committee for CHOC's Let's Talk: Mental Health Luncheon, supporting the hospital's efforts to expand pediatric mental-health services, education, research, and community resources.
Broader Support
Healthcare,
Education, Arts.
Through the Ronald N. Krajian Foundation and personally, Dick supports a range of organizations working across healthcare, education, human services, arts, and culture. He is a sponsor of the Elton John AIDS Foundation, alongside support for other organizations addressing healthcare access and human need.
His interests in arts and culture complement this work, reflecting a belief that healthy communities depend not only on access to essential services but also on education, cultural institutions, creativity, and opportunities for participation.
The thread connecting these activities is practical: whether in healthcare, education, or the arts, the question is whether support can meaningfully improve someone's access to care, learning, opportunity, or resources they might not otherwise have.
Firm Heritage
Built Over
Generations.
Cooper One Fourteen carries forward a real estate practice rooted in the investment, ownership, management, and development activities of K Investment Co., founded by Ronald N. Krajian in 1960. That history helped shape Dick's view of both business and philanthropy: relationships are built over time, reputation is cumulative, and stewardship extends beyond an individual transaction or generation.
The principles that guided K Investment Co. — sincerity, hard work, reputation, and stewardship — continue through Cooper One Fourteen today. They are not aspirational values. They describe the way work is done, and they inform Dick's approach across the firm, private investment and advisory activities, and the Ronald N. Krajian Foundation.
